
In this two-day workshop, participants practice reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications including identifying and categorizing the scope of work for construction projects by trade.
Upon successful completion, participants should be able to:
- Interpret graphical information shown on commercial construction drawings
- Identify different types of construction drawings – Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical.
- Determine where information is located on a set of construction drawings
- Apply the process of quantifying lengths, areas and volumes.
This course is Gold Seal Certified (3 credits). For information on the Gold Seal Certification Process refer to www.goldsealcertification.com. To Obtain a Certificate from the Construction Institute of Canada you must attend both days and complete all class activities

Clint Kissoon, President of FENAK Estimating Services Ltd., is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS), Chartered Construction Manager (FCIOB), a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS(F)), and has written and published several construction textbooks including Cost Control for Contractors, Estimating in Building Construction, and is the Technical Author for the RICS/CIQS Project Monitoring Guidance Note. Clint was the 2009 recipient of the Construction Institute of Canada (TCIC) Chancellor’s award for excellence.
